Will take place 2-3 August at Gorsebrook Park in Halifax. Modelled after the Play-on event that was held in Halifax for many years our goal is to create a high energy, super fun event where players of all levels can come together to play old school street hockey.
Our facility will host up to 9 ball hockey courts, all within 100 m. Gorsebrook Park features plenty of grassy space, ideal for spectating and hanging our between games. We think people will love it!
This will be an event where competitive fun, hustle and sportsmanship are celebrated. We will not permit any poor sportsmanship.
Rosters must feature a minimum of 6 players, maximum of 10 players (including the goalie)
Each Division will have a minimum 4 teams.
All registration is online using the GrayJay platform.
Age groups (note: we use birth year to determine age groups)
U8 (2017,2018,2019) U10 (2015, 2016) U12 (2013,2014) U15 (2010,2011, 20120)
U19 (2007,2008,2009) Open (2006 and older) Masters 40 + (1985 and older)
Each team can have one player from the next age group. Players can play in one age group older than their current age group. Masters ar the exception. Masters can have one player as young as 35.
Team leaders must bring age group exceptions to the attention the tournament organizers when registering online. This question will be asked when registering on GrayJay.
All teams guaranteed 4 games or more.
All teams advance to the playoffs round on Sunday.
Teams will be busy Saturday with the preliminary round. After the preliminary round, teams will be grouped by ability level, based on their preliminary round results. The goal is to create a fun, competitive play-offs where all team go into Championship Sunday with the dream still alive and a real chance for glory!
